General Information

The University of Manitoba American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Student Chapter is the official local AAPS student chapter Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

It has continued to focus on the expasion of membership to all departments located at the University of Manitoba Health Science Campus. Many students from diverse biomedical departments have found the benefits of AAPS student chapter membership through a novel approach to monthly events we recently implemented. Studetn chapter resources are frequently used to sponsor lunches with influential scientit presenters from the various fields or departments represented by our student membership; giving a unique opportunity to network with and gain valuable career development input from leaders in the pharmaceutical sciences.


Our Goals and Objectives

  • Expand our memberships beyond the College of Pharmacy to other colleges in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba
  • Enhance student understanding of AAPS resources and promote their involvement in AAPS activities
  • Continue to foster interaction among students through journal clubs
  • Invite speakers from academia/industry to deliver seminars on current and future challenges in the field of pharmaceutical sciences
  • Organize social gatherings to facilitate networking opportunity and professional development for members
  • Enhance participation of student members in chapter outreach activities to promote interest in pharmaceutical sciences
